Each year Salmon Arm hosts a number of conferences and special events that attract visitors to the area. Being aware of these events and exploring opportunities to better position you business are key steps in realizing increased business traffic and economic gain. The following list of events and conferences has been collected and summarized to assist your businesses in becoming more conference and event ready.

The Business Excellence Awards are intended to publicly recognize all successful companies in the area, and acknowledge the hard working people behind them who continue to demonstrate a passion for business excellence. The awards also promote the advancement of responsible business leadership and harmony within our community.

Downtown Salmon Arm in December

Tuesday on the Town – downtown Salmon Arm will be open late to 8 pm Tuesday December 6, 13, and 20th
with plenty of special offerings, demonstrations and all round good holiday cheer…
Plan to come downtown from 5 – 8 pm to enjoy all downtown Salmon Arm has to offer!

 

Enter to win an Ipad or one of two downtown Salmon Arm gift card extravaganzas Tuesday nights (Dec 6, 13, 20) from 5-8 pm. Entry forms available at all participating downtown businesses.

Affordable Art Fair - Tuesday, December 6 and Tuesday, December 13 the SAGA Gallery will be open until 8pm featuring works by local artists for sale under $200.

Santa Downtown: Santa will be roving throughout Downtown Salmon Arm during Tuesday on the Town (December 6, 13, 20) 6 pm

Holiday Carolers will be providing roaming performances each Tuesday on the Town evening (December 6, 13, 20)

School and Community-based Choirs and Bands will perform on Ross Street Stage (weather permitting)

Dinner and a Movie - The popular Dinner and a Movie returns with seven downtown eateries participating; All you need to do is plan a dinner out at one of the participating locations, order the Dinner and a Movie Special on Tuesday, December 6, 13 or 20 and you will receive a Salmar movie pass to enjoy anytime from Dec 6 to Dec 23 – 3D movies will incur a $3 up-charge.

Christmas Tree Campaign - The Family Resource Center will be hosting a Christmas Tree pick up at Ross St. on Thursday & Friday December 8th & 9th from 10am – 5pm (Trees provided by Solvang-Jespersen Tree Farm). Hot Chocolate, coffee & pop corn will be available by donation. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to support the Family Resource Center. The Candy Vault will also donate $1 for every bag of Cotton Candy sold on these days.

Photos with Santa – Have your photo taken with Santa at the Family Resource Center while you pick up your tree – Photos will be taken December 8th 2 – 5pm,
Dec 9th 9-12, 12 – 12:30pm pictures with dogs (sorry, no cats) at the Family Resource Center - 181 Trans Canada Hwy. NE

Free Saturday Matinee – Downtown Salmon Arm businesses are sponsoring free family friendly
Matinees at the Salmar Classic on Saturday December 3, 10, and 17. Each Saturday at 4 pm a holiday movie will be presented…Elf – starring Will Ferrell; Home Alone and Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas starring Jim Carrey. Admission is free with a donation to the Second Harvest Food Bank. Concession will be open for snack and refreshment sales.

CPR Holiday Train will roll into downtown Salmon Arm on Wednesday, December 14 and will feature musical performances by Tracey Brown (of the Family Brown and Prescott-Brown) and Valdy. Please remember this is a food bank event. Please bring a donation to support the local food bank in Salmon Arm!

Breakfast with Santa - Join Santa for a light breakfast at the SAGA gallery on Saturday, December 17. Special thanks to Askew's Foods and Culinary Inspirations for sponsoring this great family event!
Food bank donations are welcomed!

Elves Workshop – Children aged 5-12 are invited to spend an afternoon of artful creation at the SAGA gallery on Saturday, Dec 17. This supervised event will allow parents some free time to get out and explore downtown Salmon Arm's shops and services. Space is limited. Food bank donations are welcomed!
